Ever Before Twitter Was Called X, I had been introduced to a certain Disciple X, that lived in Jesus times. He was the only disciple that threw parties immediately after the crucifixion before the resurrection. This is despite witnessing Jesus harassed, humiliated, stripped naked, dehumanized and shamefully crucified!
When asked, why the party? “Jesus said he would die and rise again and I believe him” was his reply. His detractors which included almost all other disciples, went away shaking their heads believing that he was either naive or nuts, or both. “Didn’t he see what we all saw at Jesus trial and crucifixion?”
Dear Child of God, when all hopes seem lost, God seems defeated, how and where do you stand?
Of course Disciple X is an imaginary disciple, but the challenge the Holy Spirit posed to me that day was real. He is posing the same to you today. Can you believe God past the contrary, and sometimes final physical evidence? When the fat lady has sung and she has even left the building; do you agree that indeed it is all over? Regardless of what Jesus told you? Paul, still in the middle of a shipwreck, declared “… I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.”(Acts 27:25 KJV)
Yes, Disciple X is an imaginary entity. Yet, that can be me, that can be you, believing God against all odds!
Only believe, only believe; All things are possible, only believe;
