H-E-L-P!!! But Not Really!

2 Minutes Read

In ‭Judges‬ ‭1‬:‭3, based on a reciprocity promise, the tribe of Judah sought the help of the tribe of Simeon in warfare. Later on, it was time for the Simeonites’ war, Judah kept their end of the bargain.

The focus here is how the Bible accounts for the Simeonites’ war in verses 17-19 “then Judah joined with Simeon to fight … Judah captured the towns of Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ekron, along with their surrounding territories. The Lord was with the people of Judah, and they took possession of the hill country…

Although it was the Simeonites’ war but it was Judah that took the cities. Same Judah asking Simeon for help much earlier.

Not all asking for help, or you have a chance to help today, will forever be in that position. Some may soon be the one to win your war for you, your helpers of destiny.

A journey-weary Jew once asked a Samaritan woman for a drink of water. Before that, the Bible had earlier said “and he must needs go through Samaria.” So he was there on an appointment, not so much for water. Elisha and the Shunammite woman’s episode started on the basis of a need.

And show hospitality to strangers, for they may be angels from God showing up as your guests” (Heb.‬ ‭13‬:‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬). A cue for all desiring and praying to see angels. It isn’t every time that they show up as luminous incandescent beings. Sometimes, still equally powerful, they do show up as straggling strangers seeking sustenance – fyi!
