Focus Scripture: “ Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:16-17 NIV
“Those who are with us are more than those who are with them” said Elisha. And, upon the servant’s eyes being opened into the spirit that was exactly what he discovered! So, the spirit world reality was already captured in Elisha’s words. The opening of eyes, while it helped the servant’s awareness and calmed his fears, did nothing to add or remove from what was already transpiring in the spirit world!
So if the servant had simply believed Elisha’s words without his eyes being opened, the outcome would have been exactly the same! This reality is even truer with God’s word. As it is an accurate description of the spirit world actualities. Hence, Jesus said, ‘’.. the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63 KJV). If we have God’s word on a thing and we believe it, the dynamics are the same either we see into the spirit or not.
As you begin a new year, have you seen something in an open vision, prophetic dreams, trances etc. or even got a word from a a seer or a prophet? If you have, good for you, then run with it! Seeing in the spirit is an advantage that I believe should be coveted by all. However, should you not have seen or heard anything of such? Do not feel disadvantaged in the least. Right in your hands from Genesis to Revelation is the ‘more sure word of prophecy’ (2 Peter 1:19 NIV). Dig into it and see accurately into the spirit.
Remember there was zero discrepancy between Elisha’s statement and the state of affairs in the unseen world: “Jesus said, “so, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.”” John 20:29 MSG
