She offered her body, he declined. She made sure he rotted in jail. ‘She is a wicked witch’ some might say. Probably not, it is not that complicated. She was a mirror, a cracked one. No matter how beautiful a thing you put in front of a cracked mirror you can never get an undistorted image out of it. The same favour on Joseph that made Sir Potiphar cede control was the same that made Lady Potiphar cede her corset. She processed as a cracked mirror would. A young lady was reported as saying ‘anything my (already married) spiritual father needs from me he gets’, and she meant everything including her virtue!
However, this syndrome, albeit less severe than Lady Potiphar’s goes beyond the amorous zones. There is an attestation in almost every facet of life. Some actually struggle to process, interpret and receive genuine praises or criticisms, (even if constructive) of them. Why do some see a ghost behind every bush? Are you really an introvert or just afraid of being betrayed again? Are you really an extrovert or just hate being with yourself alone? There was once a divorce over where each of the couple pressed the toothpaste tube, one insisted it must be at the bottom, the other was like ‘does it matter?’ Well, It did, it snowballed, marriage ended, sad.
A cracked mirror, are you? Jesus still mends such.
“And whenever a piece of pottery turned out flawed, he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to the potter.” (Jer. 18:4 TPT).
